At John Raymond Transport we are looking for an Apprentice HGV Technician to join our team in Bridgend. We are seeking eager, enthusiastic people with a thirst for knowledge and the desire to learn and develop their skills within our workshop.

The position of Apprentice HGV Technician will learn how to:

• Diagnose and fault find problems on vehicles and trailers using latest diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out truck and trailer maintainence in accordance with DVSA and manufacturer’s specifications.
• Complete documentation as legally required in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain best practice in relation to vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Work as part of a team to build employee and customer relations
• Maintain a clean and tidy workplace environment.
• Implement legislation and Health and Safety procedures.

Essential skills required for HGV Technician:

• An interest in HGV Maintenance and repair.
• Completion of year 1 or 2 of an apprenticeship is advantageous but not necessary.
• Have previous mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Capable of learning new skills and processing information.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under instruction and as part of a team.
