Transport Planner - New Ross

We are currently recruiting for the role of Transport Planner in our transport office. This planner will be responsible for the scheduling and monitoring of vehicle (HGV) road deliveries within agreed delivery times and customer requirements. It includes planning routes, allocating the correct equipment and drivers for the loads, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring drivers, their working hours and helping to ensure the operation runs efficiently at all times.

The Role:

  • Assist senior planners in assigning loads to drivers, including; routing, journey time, appropriate vehicles for load type, driver location and availability, customer requirements, load security, etc
  • Book ferries, check for customs clearance (if required) and any other country specific documentation.
  • Liaise with HGV drivers, customers, customs officials, suppliers and all internal stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure the transport system is updated in real time and reflecting current state
  • Responding to all queries, calls and emails. Keeping the transport team updated at all times
  • Monitoring end to end deliveries and taking immediate corrective action if and when required.
  • Maintain all systems, processes and reporting requirements
  • Other ad hoc administration duties

The ideal candidate will;

  • Be organised, focused with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Have attention to detail with strong IT capability

The Role:

  • Manage & Track Policy/Procedure Changes

In your role as Health & Safety Officer, you will assist the Health & Safety Manager to ensure that Health & Safety Management systems are implemented and maintained across the site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Regularly reviewing and updating company risk assessments, method statements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct weekly audits, safety inspections and daily site checks.

Key Duties of the Role:

  • Working closely with and reporting to the Managing Director - you will be responsible for the day-to-day quality control function, within the business.
  • Take full responsibility for & operate the facility in full compliance on all matters of quality control including adherence to all quality standards and protocols such as Seveso. This responsibility will include the scheduling of regular audits of all agreed quality control standards.
